Geosmin is not just a lovely molecule, it is also the title of a collection of poetry written by my incredibly wise and kind editor Catherine Young.
Behold, here is the first human on Earth who has read The Emissary Novel (besides me the author).
If you are in Door County mid June, you have at least three chances to meet my friend and editor Catherine Young. She is giving readings from her new book of eco-poetry, Geosmin.
I've gotten to know this fascinating woman through the Write On, Door County virtual writing critique group that I have co-lead for a couple of years now. I was so impressed with Catherine's insights on my novel that I asked her to give it a first pass edit (which she read twice without my asking, not an easy thing as my draft is the size of the largest Harry Potter book). She's a former park ranger, current goat farmer, dancer, musician, and as The Emissary would say, a Kind Human, which is the most important thing you can be.
